Application of Ultrasonic Vibration Rod in Traditional Chinese Medicine Extraction
Ultrasonic vibrators can be used to extract effective ingredients from traditional Chinese medicine. Firstly, add the extraction solvent to the container, crush or cut the Chinese medicinal materials into granules as needed, and place them in the extraction solvent; Turn on the ultrasonic generator, install the ultrasonic vibration rod on the top of the extraction tank, and emit ultrasonic waves into the extraction solvent. The 'cavitation effect' and mechanical action generated by the ultrasonic waves in the extraction solvent can effectively break down the cell walls of the medicinal materials, making the active ingredients in a free state and dissolve into the extraction solvent. On the other hand, it can accelerate the molecular motion of the extraction solvent, allowing the active ingredients in the extraction solvent and medicinal materials to quickly come into contact, dissolve and mix with each other.
The excellent temperature for extracting medicinal materials using ultrasonic vibration rods is between 40-60 degrees Celsius, so there is no need to equip a boiler to provide steam heating, which is beneficial for energy conservation and improving environmental pollution. More importantly, it has a protective effect on the active ingredients in medicinal materials that are unstable, prone to hydrolysis or oxidation when exposed to heat. Ultrasonic vibration rods can generally achieve excellent results after running for about 30 minutes. Compared with traditional processes, the extraction efficiency is greatly improved, and it is not limited by the properties and molecular weight of traditional Chinese medicinal materials. It is suitable for the extraction of most types of Chinese medicinal materials and various components (including liquid-liquid extraction and solid-liquid extraction). Therefore, the use of ultrasonic vibration rods for traditional Chinese medicine extraction has been increasingly adopted by pharmaceutical companies.
