The compensator consists of a connecting pipe, a corrugated pipe, and a pair of hinges connected to the connecting pipe. The designed hinges and pins can withstand the thrust generated by internal and external pressure on the compensator. It can only absorb angular displacement of a single plane, and when absorbing displacement, two or triangular compensators should be used in combination.
