Silverson laboratory mixer versoProduct Introduction
Compared with conventional emulsifiers, the high shear rotor/stator of Silverson L5T is designed with perforated rings for multi-stage mixing/shearing.
phase 1
The high-speed rotation of the rotor blades inside the precision machined emulsifying head can pull liquid and solid materials upward from the bottom of the container and enter the center of the emulsifying head.

phase 2
High speed centrifugal force drives the material to the periphery of the emulsifying head and undergoes milling action in the precision machining gap between the end of the rotor blade and the inner wall of the stator.

Stage 3
Afterwards, there is a strong hydraulic shear, as the material is forced to pass through the perforations in the stator at high speed and circulate into the main body of the mixture.

Stage 4
The material discharged from the head is thrown radially at high speed towards the side of the mixing container. At the same time, fresh materials are continuously sucked into the emulsifying head to maintain mixing circulation. Horizontal (radial) discharge and suction of the head, establishing a circulation pattern that minimizes ventilation caused by disturbances on the liquid surface.

L5T laboratory mixer - emulsifying head
All Silverson L5T high shear mixers come with comprehensive working heads and hole rings. These easily interchangeable working heads provide great versatility for a wide range of mixing operations, including emulsification, homogenization, decomposition, dissolution, dispersion, blending, particle size reduction, and de aggregation.
Universal decomposition emulsifying ring:
This is a very powerful mixed action that is universal among all heads. Suitable for general mixed applications. It also includes solid decomposition and preparation of gel and thickener, suspension, solution and slurry.

Square hole high shear emulsion ring:
The structure and fine internal tolerances of the stator provide a very high shear rate, making it an ideal choice for rapid reduction of soluble and insoluble granular solids. It is also suitable for preparing lotion and fine colloidal suspensions.

Porous emulsifying ring:
Suitable for liquid/liquid preparations, especially all lotion. Can be used for fine and medium (standard) perforations.

Axial flow emulsifying ring:
The head discharges material vertically upwards instead of horizontally, and is used in certain situations where minimal ventilation is required to maintain insoluble solids in the suspension.

Slotted disintegration emulsifying ring:
Used for the decomposition of fibrous materials such as animal and plant tissues, as well as the decomposition and dissolution of "elastic" materials such as rubber and polymers. Vertical and diagonal groove heads can be used.
