Overview

The SCALANCE XR-500 industrial Ethernet switch based on Layer 3 communication is a fully modular, high-performance industrial standard switch used to build electrical and optical bus topologies with data transmission rates of 10 Gbit/s, including ring and star topologies, and can be installed in 19 "control cabinets.

• Up to four 10 Gbit/s electrical and/or fiber optic interfaces; Up to 48 10/100/1000 Mbit/s electrical and/or fiber optic interfaces, of which 12 are PoE electrical interfaces

• Thanks to the integrated redundancy manager, fast media redundancy has been achieved:
  The SCALANCE XR-500 can also achieve ring network redundancy connection through high-speed media redundancy function.

• Due to its support for a large number of IT standard features such as VLAN, IGMP Snooping/Query, STP/RSTP/MSTP, link aggregation, quality of service, 802.1X, and optional static routing RIP、OSPF、VRRP）， Therefore, automated networks can be seamlessly integrated into existing company networks.

• PROFINET diagnostics, web browser, CLI, and SNMP

• KEY-PLUG, as a switching medium, can activate the third layer routing function.

• Used for automatic backup of configuration data. When a malfunction occurs, SCALANCE XR-500 components (including C-PLUG functionality) can be quickly and conveniently replaced without the need for an on-site programmer

• Can be used in all second layer products of SCALANCE XR-500.
