Working principle
The speed of sound waves in air is 340 meters per second, and in water it is around 1500 meters per second. It takes exactly 1 second for sound waves to travel back and forth 750 meters underwater. By measuring the round-trip time of sound waves, the depth of underwater targets can be calculated. Ultrasonic waves are sound waves with frequencies higher than human hearing, suitable for underwater detection. The depth gauge emits and receives ultrasonic waves through an ultrasonic transducer, and displays underwater targets on a LCD screen by recording and calculating the depth of the water bottom for display.
