Infiltration pool
overview
Food contact materials, such as food packaging, serve to protect the contents. It contains information about consumers, the entire supply chain, and even the retail industry. Many foods cannot be stored and sold without proper packaging. Consumers first see the packaging on supermarket shelves when shopping, so their motivation to purchase products increases with the improvement of packaging quality. Packaging materials include plastic, cardboard, paper, cardboard boxes, aluminum, tinplate, glass, and composite films.
In order to make packaging materials comply with food laws, the legal practice is that under normal or foreseeable conditions of use, the manufacturing method of materials and items can only allow a very small amount of packaging material components to be transferred into food,It cannot harm human health, nor can it produce any discernible odor or unpleasant taste.
penetrate
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) can prevent chemicals from coming into contact with human skin through PPE (penetration). The maximum lifespan of wearing equipment largely depends on the protective ability of personal protective equipment (PPE) against corresponding pollutants and the type of work performed. Therefore, we must understand the minimum protective ability of chemical protective gloves and protective clothing against invisible penetration (permeation) of chemicals over a period of time based on actual usage.
According to the test methods of EN 16523-1:2015-04 and EN 16523-1:2015-04 (formerly DIN EN 374-3), the protective ability was experimentally simulated by measuring the penetration time. There are many types of chemical substances encountered, and the recommended PPE materials specified in the chemical safety data sheet, as well as the small changes in PPE material composition during the manufacturing process, require extensive penetration testing.
LABC Labotechnik has developed a permeation workstation for standardized measurement.

Product Introduction
Qumat ®- Q401-HRWith detector: FIDperhapsFIP/FPD
The most widely sold equipment by LABC in Germany is the Qumat with FID detector ® Q401-HR。 The analyzer measures the permeation rate of chemical substances (such as volatile organic compounds) detected by the built-in hydrogen flame ionization detector (FID). The analyzer measures the penetration of the test chemical in three permeation measurement tanks. Additionally, install an FPD (flame photometric detector) to measure organic compounds containing small amounts of sulfur.
Qumat ®- Q401-HRWith detector: FID
This analyzer measures the permeation rate in chemical protective gloves and protective clothing. It uses a built-in hydrogen flame ionization detector to detect chemical substances. The analyzer measures the permeation of test chemicals in three permeation measurement chambers according to DIN EN 374-3 and EN 16523-1 (or alternatively 1 "ASTM cell) (not included in the delivery scope!). The testing pool is placed in a permeation measurement pool, with one side filled with the fluid to be tested and the other side continuously permeated by a gas collection medium. For the volatile test substances detectable by FID, analyze these three specified airflows in sequence. The results will be recorded in a table. If the test substance is tested at a concentration of<1 μ g/min-1cm-2The penetration rate through the test sample was determined according to DIN EN 374-3 and EN 16523-1.
Qumat ®- Q401-HR-FID
Equipped with a PC controlled multi position valve for sequentially analyzing 6 airflow streams.
Except for three glass penetration measurement tanks (not within the delivery scope!),
Zero gas, reference gas (such as isobutane/air), and test gas used during the experiment
The chemical permeation concentration can be obtained by measuring the sample.
Organic glass casing with exhaust vent for temperature control of permeation tank, reference gas tank, test gas tank, and zero gas
A temperature controller with a fan, heater (300 W), and Peltier cooler (>100 W) for pre-set temperatures of 23 ℃± 1 ℃ or 33 ℃± 1 ℃
FID for detecting hydrocarbon test substances and (switchable) FPD for detecting test substances containing P and S.
An evaluation program for generating Excel compatible data (prerequisite: the computer must have USB and Windows 7 (not included in the delivery scope!)! )
Note:
Only trained and qualified personnel are allowed to operate the equipment. Suggest attending a two-day training course. It offers German and English. Delivery scope:
•Qumat ®- Q401-HR-FID analyzer (length x width x height: 100 cm x 70 cm x 60 cm)
Two PTFE blind flange plates are used for reaction gases and test gases, with a glass lower part equipped with a permeation measurement cell.

Mobile penetration testing platform
PERMOBIL can be conveniently used for real-time production quality control. PERMOBIL is a mobile penetration testing platform equipped with a measuring cell and a PID detector (photoionization detector). PID can also detect volatile organic compounds, except for methanol, most chlorinated hydrocarbons, and diols with potentially low response factors.
Mobile IFA * penetration test bench, compliant with EN 16523-1 (replacing EN374-3)
According to EN 16523-1 (replacing EN374-3), the measurement process is carried out in a temperature controlled permeation measurement cell. The sample is placed in the measuring chamber, and the test substance reacts on the front side. The purified ambient air passes through the measurement space on the back, and some of the air is sent to suitable detectors (such as PID * *) for concentration measurement. The recording of detector signals provides the permeation curve of the studied material chemical pair and helps determine the permeation rate. This device is specifically designed to test the chemical permeability of chemical protective gloves and chemical protective clothing materials.
The PERMOBIL:
Portable casing made of aluminum side panels and organic glass
An integrated, ventilated temperature controller is used to ensure that the test temperature required by EN is maintained at a normal ambient temperature of 23 ℃± 1 ℃ using a heater (300 W) and a Peltier cooler (>100 W)
Integrated pump with volumetric flow meter and controller, used to draw in ambient air through commercial combination filters (gas and particulate filters)
The infiltration tank complies with EN 16523-1 (replacing EN374-3)
Compensation container for removing test airflow
Technical specifications: 230 V, weight: approximately 13 kg,
• Size: Height=365 mm (460 mm with filter!), Width=450 mm, Thickness=300-375 mm

Liquid infiltration tank NW50 liquid
Product throughLiquid infiltration tank NW50 liquidCombining conductivity and pH detectors for measuring acid, alkali, and salt solutions.
Determination of chemical permeability of liquid test chemicals in continuous contact with samples of safety clothing or gloves materials and liquid collection media.
For example, the standard EN 16523-1 (replacing EN 374-3), ASTM F-739, and the draft standard DIN EN ISO 6529 describe the impermeability test for safety clothing materials. temperature controlofLiquid infiltration tank NW50 liquidThe infiltration tank has a closed collection chamber (corresponding to: a closed system (circuit)), in which the liquid collection medium is thoroughly mixed with a magnetic stirring rod, and the concentration of the infiltration test chemical is measured over time by a built-in sensor, conductivity or pH sensor "in situ". The measured values are stored in the Multi3410 data logger (manual conductivity and pH meter). The evaluation of measurement data can be completed through table calculations on a computer.
In addition to the recommended test chemicals (30% sodium hydroxide solution, 96% and 18% sulfuric acid) in the draft standard DIN EN ISO 6529, water collection media can also be used as alternatives to measure inorganic and organic acids and bases. Equipped with DURAN ® Temperature control sleeve made of laboratory glassLiquid infiltration tank NW50 liquidUse a digital Peltier thermostat PT31 (heating/cooling liquid: water) to maintain a constant test temperature of 23 ° C (+1 ° C). You can also choose other test temperatures, such as 33 ° C (maximum 35 ° C, minimum+13 ° C)! Place the material sample to be tested in the PTFE sample holder (PTFE holder ·).
