OmniScan SX
Olympus proudly launches the newly developed OmniScan for its users ® SX, This is a flaw detector that has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in exploring phased array technology and embodies the essence of OmniScan. In order to facilitate the use of the instrument, the OmniScan SX features a reasonably simplified new software interface on its 8.4-inch touchscreen. OmniScan SX is a single group non modular instrument designed for applications with low detection requirements. It is extremely easy to operate and has a high cost performance ratio.
OmniScan SX has two models: SX PA and SX UT. SX PA is a 16:64PR phased array unit, which, like SX UT with only UT channel, is also equipped with a conventional UT channel for pulse echo, one transmitter one receiver, or TOFD detection. Compared to the OmniScan MX2, the OmniScan SX is 33% lighter in weight and 50% smaller in size, offering a more lightweight and portable performance compared to the OmniScan product.
The OmniScan SX touchscreen is equipped with a full screen mode option, which maximizes clarity. Users only need to perform simple operations on the touchscreen to access many menu functions. The intuitive interface allows users to smoothly select menus, zoom in and out, adjust gates, move the cursor, and input text and numbers. The above features, along with other additional integrated functions, including easy to understand setup and calibration guides, fast S-scan and A-scan display update rates, and fast pulse repetition frequency (PRF), make OmniScan SX a great detection tool.
OmniScan SX is fully compatible with Olympus' extensive range of scanners, probes, and accessory products, as well as its specialized software NDT Setup Builder and OmniPC. The complete integration of hardware and software products makes the detection process streamlined and effective from design, setup to collection and analysis.
Olympus is proud to launch the current version 4.1 OmniScan software for its users. This new version of software not only improves a lot of performance, but also adds multiple new features.
In order to achieve the goal of continuous improvement, the software interface is simplified and the response time is optimized, so that customers can experience the detection operation process as much as possible.
In order to simplify the operation process and make it easy for new OmniScan users to learn operational knowledge, we have introduced a single operation mode in the instrument, so that operators can access every item in the interface at any time. Therefore, all three operating environments can now be combined together:
SX or MX2, using touch screen
SX or MX2, using a mouse
l OmniPC
In order to enhance users' experience of operation, a title bar has been added to the software, which allows users to immediately access the main display options. In addition, commonly used functions can now be accessed and used through interactive menus in full screen mode by clicking with a finger, fully possessing the convenience of a tablet.
The emergence of OmniScan SX has introduced a new type of "application" wizard for users. This convenient software feature can quickly create settings for common applications, allowing users to fully experience the ease and flexibility of the setting creation process.
The emergence of the versatile new Omniscan SX instrument further strengthens Olympus' already comprehensive library of innovative market solutions, all developed with the aim of simplifying the inspection workflow and improving overall production efficiency.
Phased array weld inspection
OmniScan PA is the core of Olympus' manual and semi-automatic phased array weld inspection solution developed for the oil and gas industry. These systems can not only be used for testing that complies with ASME, API, and other regulatory standards, but also have the characteristics of high-speed detection and easy interpretation of defect indications.
Corrosion imaging and composite material testing
With the emergence of OmniScan SX, zero degree detection has become more convenient and feasible. In the detection applications of corrosion or composite materials, Olympus can provide field validated solutions for detecting abnormal phenomena or wall thickness loss in materials.
TOFD weld inspection
In the main application of detecting weld defects, TOFD is a simple and highly efficient detection method. This method can not only quickly quantify the defects found in the volume of the weld seam (which is usually a high-risk area for manufacturing defects), but also has extremely high cost-effectiveness.
Component detection
Component inspection utilizes ultrasonic technology to detect cracks, wall thickness reduction, and various other defects. OmniScan SX can use both angular and linear zero degree sound beams, making it a highly cost-effective solution for completing such single group detection applications.
