Metal toothed gasket is a type of solid metal gasket that is usually machined on both sides of a metal flat gasket using a precision lathe or specialized milling machine to form a sawtooth shaped groove with concentric 90 degree angles. Due to the contact with other sealing surfaces being multiple concentric circles, it has a labyrinth sealing effect. Different metal materials can be selected according to different media and working conditions. In most cases, tooth shaped gaskets can be combined with other non-metallic materials to achieve better sealing effects. Reference can be made to metal toothed composite gaskets. If used directly without a covering sealing layer, it can also achieve good sealing effect, but it is easy to damage the surface of the flange in high-pressure situations. So generally, it is required that the roughness of the sealing surface be Ra1.6um or above.
Special working conditions such as extremely high temperatures, strong corrosion, etc. require special materials for metal toothed gaskets. We can also produce the following special materials that can be requested:Stainless steel 304L, 321316TI, 309347410, duplex steel (220531803), Monel MONEL (400), Inconel INCONEL (600625), INCOLOY (800825), Hastelloy (B2, C276), titanium (T2) and other special stainless steel or alloy materials.
Performance characteristics of metal toothed gasket:
1. With lower preload force, it has good sealing effect even in high-pressure environments, especially suitable for high temperature, high pressure, and alternating working conditions. It is an ideal substitute for traditional metal wrapped gaskets and metal wrapped gaskets.
2. Pure metal toothed gaskets are prone to damage the flange surface, so when replacing the gasket, the flange sealing surface needs to be machined.
3. It can be combined with non-metallic materials such as graphite and PTFE to achieve better performance.

Tooth shaped gaskets are mainly used for sealing the connections of medium, high pressure, and high temperature pressure vessels, heat exchangers, condensers, and pipeline flanges in industries such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, power, shipbuilding, and machinery.
