MBR membrane bioreactor is a new and efficient wastewater treatment process that combines efficient membrane separation technology with traditional activated sludge process. It uses MBR flat membrane modules with unique structures placed in an aeration tank. After aerobic aeration and biological treatment, the water is filtered through a filter membrane by a pump and extracted. MBR sewage treatment has significant differences from traditional sewage treatment methods, as it replaces the secondary sedimentation tank and tertiary treatment process in traditional processes with membrane separation devices. Thus obtaining high-quality effluent, solving the problem of traditional environmental protection equipment's effluent quality not meeting the requirements for reclaimed water reuse. The water treated by MBR can be directly used as municipal water or further processed for various industrial uses.
Due to the presence of MBR membrane, the solid-liquid separation ability of the system is greatly improved, resulting in a significant increase in the effluent, water quality, and volumetric load of MBR membrane bioreactor. The water quality standard after membrane treatment is high (exceeding the national first-class A standard), and after disinfection, high-quality regenerated water with high water quality and biological safety is finally formed, which can be directly used as a new water source. Due to the filtration effect of the membrane, microorganisms are completely trapped in the MBR membrane bioreactor, achieving a thorough separation of hydraulic retention time and activated sludge age, eliminating the problem of sludge swelling in traditional activated sludge processes.
