Plasma is known as the fourth form of matter, composed of electrons, ions, free radicals, and neutral particles. Low temperature plasma organic gas purifier utilizes plasma. Repeatedly bombarding the molecules of odorous gases at a rate of 8 to 50 million times per second, deactivating, ionizing, and cracking various components in the exhaust gas, resulting in a series of complex chemical reactions such as oxidation. After multi-stage purification, harmful substances are converted into clean air and released into nature.

The working principle of low-temperature plasma exhaust gas purification equipment is to use a high-pressure generator to form low-temperature plasma. Under the action of a large number of electrons with an average energy of about 5eV, organic waste gas molecules such as benzene, toluene, and xylene passing through the purifier are converted into various active particles, which combine with O2 in the air to generate low-molecular-weight harmless substances such as H2O and CO2, thus purifying the exhaust gas.

Corona discharge belongs to the asymmetric discharge form of electricity. Electrons first obtain energy from the electric field and transfer it to molecules or atoms through excitation or ionization. The molecules or atoms that obtain energy are excited, while some molecules are ionized, thus becoming active groups; A large number of energy carrying electrons bombard pollutant molecules, causing them to ionize, dissociate, and excite, which then triggers a series of complex physical and chemical reactions, transforming complex large molecule pollutants into simple small molecule substances, or transforming toxic and harmful substances into non-toxic, harmless, or low toxicity substances, thereby enabling pollutants to be degraded and removed. Due to the average energy of electrons generated after ionization being 10 eV, controlling the reaction conditions appropriately can make chemical reactions that are generally difficult to achieve or slow in speed very fast. As a high-tech with strong potential advantages in the field of environmental pollution treatment, plasma has received high attention from relevant disciplines both domestically and internationally.

In the process of plasma chemical reaction, the transfer of chemical energy by plasma is roughly as follows

(1) Electric field+electrons → high-energy electrons

(2) High energy electrons+molecules (or atoms) → (stimulated atoms, stimulated groups, free groups) active groups

(3) Active groups+molecules (atoms) → products+heat

Process 1: Direct bombardment of high-energy electrons

Process 2: Generating oxygen atoms, ozone, hydroxyl radicals, and small molecule fragments

Process 3: Oxidation of Molecular Fragments

After low-temperature plasma purification, the exhaust gas still contains some small molecule substances and ozone. The use of water washing technology can further treat pollutants and reduce the ozone content in the exhaust gas. Therefore, during this process, some small molecule organic compounds can be further removed by hydroxyl radicals oxidation.

Mainly used for odor and foul odor treatment in various fields such as chemical industry, paper industry, pharmaceutical industry, food industry, tire and rubber production plants, automobile production, paint spraying, sewage treatment, sludge and waste gas treatment, waste gas treatment, leather industry, printing factory, spice production industry, feed and breeding farms, pesticide production, and tobacco industry.
