The regulations stipulate that the DC resistance of transformer windings must be measured during transformer handover, major repairs, minor repairs, changes in tap positions, fault inspections, and pre tests. The purpose is to:
① Check the welding quality of the internal wires and leads of the winding;
② Check whether the contact of each position of the tap changer is good;
③ Check for any broken windings or lead wires;
④ Check the correctness of the parallel branch and whether there is a situation where the winding formed by several parallel wires has one or several broken wires;
⑤ Check for short circuits between layers and turns.
