The disc separator is a vertical centrifuge, with the drum mounted on the upper end of the vertical shaft and driven by an electric motor through a transmission device to rotate at high speed. There is a set of disk shaped components nested together inside the drum - discs. There is a small gap between the discs. The suspension (or emulsion) is fed into the drum through a feed pipe located at the center of the drum. When the suspension (or emulsion) passes through the gaps between the discs, solid particles (or droplets) settle onto the discs under the action of a centrifuge, forming sediment (or liquid layer). The sediment slides along the surface of the disc and separates from it, accumulating in the largest diameter part of the drum. The separated liquid is discharged from the outlet of the drum. The function of the disc is to shorten the settling distance of solid particles (or droplets) and expand the settling area of the drum. The installation of the disc in the drum greatly improves the production capacity of the separator. The solids accumulated in the drum are manually removed by dismantling the drum after the separator is stopped, or discharged from the drum without stopping through a slag discharge machine.
1. Dairy separatorUsed for skim milk or milk clarification (to remove solid impurities).
Structurally, there are small separators driven by hand and manually operated for slag discharge, suitable for use by farmers and herdsmen in pastoral areas; Large separators are used in industrial production, electrically driven, and the slag discharge method is manual slag discharge or ring valve slag discharge.
2. Mineral oil separatorUsed for removing moisture and mechanical impurities from mineral oils such as fuel oil, diesel, lubricating oil, and transformer oil, and can also separate similar emulsions.
3. Vegetable oil separatorUsed for the processing and refining of vegetable oils.
4. Animal oil separatorUsed for refining animal fats in meat processing, or for fish oil concentration and separation in seafood processing.
5. Yeast separatorUsed for concentrating yeast and nozzle discharge.
6. Starch separatorUsed for starch removal of proteins and starch concentration, nozzle discharge. The cassava production line should use 8 or 10 nozzles.
7. Lanolin separatorThe wool spinning industry is used to extract lanolin from wool washing water and discharge slag from nozzles.
8. Pharmaceutical disc separatorUsed in the pharmaceutical industry for the extraction of antibiotics, vitamins, and other substances, as well as for the separation of liquid-liquid solid three-phase mixtures in pharmaceutical and chemical production.
9. Beer separatorUsed for clarifying beer, malt extract, and other beverages.
10. Latex separatorUsed for the concentration and removal of impurities in rubber emulsion.
11. Paint separatorUsed to separate impurities in coatings and improve the quality of coatings.
