Centrifugal maintenance plan and technical and economic analysis
Due to the lack of spare parts for the imported settling centrifuge screw feeder, it is necessary to repair the worn and out of tolerance parts of the shaft neck. This requires disassembling the screw feeder and the two end drive shaft, mechanically processing the worn shaft neck, and then locally electroplating, grinding, assembling, and balancing. This process is complex and requires shipment to a specialized chemical machinery factory for processing, resulting in high costs. The cost of repairing a single unit is quoted at around 14000 yuan. The quality of maintenance cannot be guaranteed yet, and once the workpiece deforms, it may be scrapped. The most important thing is that the maintenance cycle is as long as three months, while the shutdown and overhaul time of our factory's equipment is only forty days. This cannot guarantee that the major overhaul will be completed as planned to restore normal production of the four PVC production lines.
Brush plating technology is a new technology that has rapidly developed in China in recent years for repairing mechanical components of centrifuges. The equipment is simple and can be repaired on site, the process is flexible, the plating speed is fast, the bonding is strong, and there is no need for mechanical processing after plating. After careful economic and technical evaluation, it was decided to use brush plating new technology to repair the main shaft of the spiral feeder for the maintenance of important equipment, eliminating the out of tolerance caused by wear and restoring the dimensional accuracy of the main shaft.

In October 2008, during the major overhaul period, our company used brush plating technology to repair four worn parts of the spiral feeder spindle of two settling centrifuges, 1 and 2. The on-site repair only took three days, greatly reducing the maintenance cycle. Two centrifuges have been running for over four months since their major overhaul this year, and their technical condition is good. The vibration values obtained from the status monitoring of the centrifuge equipment comply with the provisions of the HGJ1O44-79 standard for horizontal settling centrifuges, ensuring long-term, safe, and stable operation in production.
