Instrument Introduction
Cathodoluminescence analyzer can be used to determine the structure and composition of solid samples such as quartz, calcite, dolomite, and diamond, without causing damage to the samples. Cathodoluminescence analyzer has the advantages of fast and convenient sample changing, simple and compact design, and easy connection with specialized microscopes for petrology. In addition, the sample room has a wide range of requirements for sample size, and has strong temperature control capabilities for samples suitable for producing cathode light at low temperatures.
Since the 1980s, cathodoluminescence technology has not only been applied in traditional fields of earth science and planetary science, but has also pioneered research and applications in industries such as glass, ceramics, semiconductors, and synthetic materials; In addition, cathodoluminescence technology has promising development prospects in new directions such as forensic science, archaeology, and materials science. The combination of cathodoluminescence analyzer and EDS detector can obtain X-ray spectral characteristics and elemental analysis of relevant samples.
The application value of cathodoluminescence analyzer in the field of petrology has been widely recognized, such as component zoning, secondary crystallization, dehydration, coexistence, fracture filling, radiation ring, skeletal structure in fossils and organic residues, description of cementation process, identification of authigenic feldspar and quartz, cementation of sandstone and shale, identification of minerals during separation process, etc. At present, CAMBRIDGE

Over 100 products from LTD (CITL) have been widely distributed in university laboratories in more than 30 countries, and have been applied in 15 famous oil and gas companies such as Elf, Gulf, Shell, as well as research institutions and national historical museums in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Argentina.
Cathodoluminescence analyzer is also used for identifying the characteristics of gemstones (natural or artificial) and determining the perfection of artificial gemstones. Jewelry appraisal agencies and jewelers in South Africa, Thailand, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom have used this type of product.
CL8200
The MK5 cathodoluminescence meter is an upgraded product of the MK4 model, mainly improved in electronic microcontroller and instrument digital display. The display panel has added control information and can automatically compensate for brightness based on the lighting conditions of the room. The product development also considered cutting off the beam voltage and ensuring that the vacuum pump runs simultaneously when replacing samples, saving sample replacement time. In addition, an expansion card has been designed to connect with the computer for future software upgrades of the instrument. In the vast majority of application fields, cathodoluminescence analyzers only require a small amount of samples, without the need for pre-treatment such as coating, and the measurement process does not cause damage to the samples. Cathodoluminescence analyzer can be installed on various microscopes according to the work purpose, such as polarizing microscope, solid microscope, metallographic microscope, etc.
